What is your addiction?

A physical and/or psychological dependence on psychoactive substances (for example alcohol, tobacco, heroin, caffeine and other drugs) which cross the blood-brain barrier once ingested, temporarily altering the chemical milieu of the brain...

But does this really only translate to psychoactive substances?

Are we not all addicted to something?
By altering the chemical milieu of the brain - we should really understand anything that "makes one feel good".

Music, food, books, extreme sports... Everything can make us addicted...

One person can't make it through the say without pint of beer every evening - another without their daily dosage of soap operas - yet another, without their favourite music.

Amongst many things music is an addiction of mine.
Since I stopped singing - I feel the void, that I urgently need filling. It feels like delirium tremens...

Currently I am missing an addiction of some sort.
I wish I could sink into something - and forget about the rest of the world.

. . thats a good answer . well i have experience of various addictions and could even a) recommend some , and b)not recommend some ! . as to hobby's well there are so many possibilities . an hobby i am currrently pondering is 'metal detection' i.e. searching for treasures . this could be both therapeautic and indeed rewarding ! . . ps: you must now pls excuse me for awhile as i am wanting to sink into my addiction to help me forget about the rest of the world for a few hours ! . .ps: thats an interesting article you published . .

. . yes compared to all the other numerous addictions i'd say opera is definitely more beneficial . . idea . .
