On the boring...

I am soooo bored.
Nothing to do at work (some stuff, but nothing interesting at all - well except of some people panicking at the changes, but hey ho - what can you do?).
Nothing to do at home (laundry is looking at me with both eyes now - but I am not in a mood for doing any of this or any of the washing up that is towering in the sink, no no...)

Wait a second, did I say boring?
Maybe I was rather thinking: LAZY?
Yep!

:ko:

Yesterday

Was the "proper" Santa Claus Day for me!
We went to Saltaire although I was feeling pretty poorly - I decided sitting at home makes no sense.
And we went! There were many pretty things on the way and the Saltaire Mill, but you can't take photos there...
We went for a walk in the park, and found this weird duck swimming amongst other ones.
Maybe one of you guys know what it is called?

I am posting some more photos of our walk and as well - some lovely pics of the Christmas Tree (yes, it's this time of the year AGAIN!)! I was very efficient putting the tree up you can't even see me properly:

More pictures can be found here: Saltaire and Christmas Tree (plus cats!)

PS. I am rubbish with setting up this White Balance here, everything is yellow again ;P

Santa Claus Day.

I couldn't help to show people at work how we celebrate 6 December.
On 6 December Santa comes to all the children - the good ones get sweets and some little parcels, and the naughty ones get a stick!
Everyone at work got sweets and a stick from Santa!
And then later on in the evening - when we had our little "Christmas Dinner" - Julka got her first stocking ever!

Now this is cool and dandy!

I will have to plan mixed, multi cultural Christmas this year now, that I have got the stocking!

Snow

,

As promised.
I have posted some photos of snow, that appeared in Skipton on Tuesday.
Photos are not very good quality, as they were taken on my way to work with iPhone, so they are for prove purposes only - enjoy winter in Skipton

I must apologise...

... I haven't written anything that makes much sense for ages. I've been busy with work, helping Santa out with packing presenst and my health is getting worse.
I keep the "grip" during work hours, but when I am at home I just want to break down and never pull myself back together. Pain is overwhelming. In the centre of my body, so I am not able to do anything, while it hurts.

I have eaten all Kathy's paracetamol supplies and ibuprofen is no longer working on me.
I am waiting for that moment when it strikes me that I am in very bad shape and it is actually too much for me to handle. But somehow, it's not coming...
I wonder why...

Guess what, guess what, guess what???

IT HAS BEEN SNOWING TODAY!!! ALL DAY LONG!

Summary of today's moods...

Work wise - :irked: (it is possible I will be a persona non grata in some areas of the company I work in)
Health wise - :yuck: (I still feel a bit bad, and on top of that - meds perscribed are not working)
Relationship wise - flirt (I guess when everything's down, something's gotta be up )
Weather wise - :D (a whole 20 seconds of snow today - TWO TIMES!)
Friendship wise - :jester: (everyone liked my Santa's Hat)
Cat wise - (winter has come to Skipton - cat's are sleeping all day long)

How was your day?

Today I had to stay at home...

Stomach bug. Blah... I can't eat anything, I am tired and weak and I am left on my own at home,in the bed with my laptop.

I need some electrolites...

Dzej-Si-Em!

Right.

Every month end we have to do some "regression" testing at work. This basically mens Julka is sitting behind the desk, with nose touching the monitor and is trying to establish (I love this word  ) whether what's on the system matches what's going to happen. Nothing interesting, only IF statements.
But the colours... Bloody hell - the screen for the application Julka is using knows only two coours for functions: pink for everything that runs without a condition and green for everything that is contained within the IF statement.

Now Julka can see only pink and green, and green and pink... I am planning to write a song about it :ko:

Besides that - although we were told recssion is not scary for the company we work for - 20-30 people may be radundant in January...
This is almost 5% of people who work there.

Once in a while I am greatful I work in IT, not customer contact related department...

Cold

It was snowing in Wales and Scotland.
I was hoping some snow would appear here, in North Yorkshire, so we could have just a moment of a real winter...
I still think there is a good chance for snow, as it is terribly cold outside and I have to wear my silly pompom hat every time I leave the house. And as well as this, my cats don't stay outside as long as they used to. I give it two weeks and all the cars stop running if it stays that cold.

Ian said this is the case of England being an island. That although it isn't as cold as on the continent it feels much worse. Maybe it is a matter of the wind, or maybe this is because it is so damp in here. I don't know.

I must admit I miss snow and if real winter came I would be the happiest person in our town probably! I miss sledging and snow fights and extremely cold hands. And all the nice warm things that come along with winter - thick, long jumpers, heavy woolen socks, hot tea with some "percentage" added to it, mulled wine, winter soups, windows with frozen glass, that you can't see through...

When I was a schoolchild I remember one winter at home, when it was -32 celsius degrees. We went to school anyway, with two pairs of trousers on and wooly tights underneath. Everyone had to go to work, there were no disturbances in the normal rythm of our lives. It was only cold...
And here - I hear that people don't know what winter tires are, and even if they heard about it thay have never seen or wished they were using them... There simply is NO WINTER in England.
At least not the real, long lasting on.

Probably this year I will not see the snow I've been waiting for last three years thet I spent here.
But I will still be hoping for it!

And ofceourse I have got a clod as well. Sore throat and all sorts of other nasty sneezing/coughing symptoms...
