L's Rant

I am not that experienced with the PC...I am of the carbon paper generation...but I am learning everyday..Anyway, I am really upset because two photo-sharing social sites I am on have changed hands..one of them, Snapmylife, has totally changed its format and it is no longer the cozy, inviting, community oriented site it used to be. I made friends from all over the world, people I shared my life with and who shared theirs with me. We shared through the exchange of snaps, and a community stream like no other photo-sharing site. On "your stream" you got to see whatever snaps your friends posted, and whatever comments they made on your own snaps, and whether they faved them. This was great, because it enabled you to thank them, or have conversations...in fact many conversations involved three or more friends on one snap. Now, Snapmylife, while being prettier, no doubt, has become much like every other photo sharing site, where you feel you are on site alone AND THEY DO NOT EVEN HAVE PRIVATE CHAT!!! how can you be a social site without allowing members to chat privately???? Also, navigating that site is next to impossible, or tedious at best. There is NO PAGINATION system...If you stop on a snap a make a comment, using your back button takes you alllllll the way to the first page, and at the bottom of each page, it says LOAD MORE..so you can't even skip ahead to where you were!!!! UGGGGGHHHH....And now, I have no way of knowing if friends have commented on my snaps unless I go to my photo file and look at each and every photo..I mean seriously..I took the snap, I am there to look at everyone else's snaps..and yet, if I don't look at my snaps, then I am rude, not thanking others..and people like to be thanked, otherwise, they stop coming and giving compliments..and I ask, who among us does not like compliments????
Now, on to Zannel...the company that bought them IS SHUTTING THEM DOWN!!!! why buy a site in order to shut it down..I'm sure the answer falls into the category of everything I don't know about web sites, but really...how mean is it to just wipe out an entire community...At least SML gives us some format to visit...
Well, that brings us here, to My Opera, or rather, brings me here...I had installed Opera Mini on my cell a couple of years ago (I had just gotten a touch phone, and the darn page wobbles all over, and Opera Mini is great at stabilizing it!) Anyway, I sent up a couple of snaps to My Opera, but never really got involved..didn't have to with SML and Zannel up and running...but now, I am looking for a new home for my friends and I...one that will be around for a long time, one where we can share snaps and talk..I realize there is no community stream here either...but it seems like even when you have perfection(SML) it doesn't last, so we just have to make the best of it..
I want to thank anyone who actually was able to read this whole rant...I wish I could offer you a gift..like a coupon or something..but I can't, so I'll just say thanks..
