Opera already has a nice IRC Client, so it doesn't make sense to miss out on all the Opera magic just to use Jabber!
Bitlbee is an IRC<->IM gateway that let's you talk to IM networks through IRC clients by hosting an IRC server locally on your machine for you to access.
It's definitely the coolest way to Jabber!

Hey all, I am just getting started with this group. I have been looking all over for people who had Jabber listed as one of their preferences, but could you believe that I found almost nothing about it on the forums and groups? I thought that was just unacceptable. Opera is such a great program, I would expect people to also be in the know about the great instant messaging solutions as well! I hope that this group with be received with good feedback, but whether you have good or bad comments, do make them!
