Selecting text book for Physics: Advice
Many students ask to me "From which book should I study Physics?". The wording of their Question gives an impression to me that the availability of great number text books in Physics for IIT-JEE preparation has totally confused them.
My advice to all such students is very simple and straight forward: read basic concepts from any one good book. Do not read any topic from too many books. Start a topic or a chapter by reading it from NCERT first.Solve all problems contained in NCERT.Then do some problems of the type asked in entrance exams from that topic. After this, you will be able to judge for yourself if reading that topic/chapter from some advanced book is necessary or not. If you feel that what you learnt from NCERT is not enough to solve questions in competitive exams then (and only then !) read that topic from some other advanced book. For this you can use "Resnik and Halliday's book". Other books can also be used according to your personal preference.

No book is the best. And if you think you will build strong conceptual foundations just by reading books then I will like to tell you that it will take many years. So find a good teacher. Take personal tuition from him. He will help you learn the theory of maths very fast.
Anonymous,
can't say with surety. Because you never know solving which book can ignite the fire of wisdom in your brain. Main thing is that you should understand a subject well. After that practice question solving from any good book without worrying IIT or AIEEE level.

Shubham,
managing school and IIT-JEE preparation together is something that you will have to learn. Ask your father to talk to your school teachers for your problems.

No book is the best. I have developed my concepts over a long period of time(7 years) by reading innumerable numbers of books and listening to lectures that my teachers gave. But you do not have that much time. You must finish your syllabus in 2 years or less. So use one or two books that you like studying from in each subject and also get personal tuition from good teachers if possible.

Kavya,
if you are unable to get good command in maths despite possessing so many books then it should get clear to you that you do not need to buy more books. You need the services of a good maths teacher who is willing to teach you in personal tuition. Only a good teacher can help you. In coaching they do not teach the concepts well, so don't think that you will ever be able to get good in mathematics by attending classes at your coaching.

there AIEEE question banks available in the market. For example- Arihant publishes past AIEEE papers in each subject.

No book is the best. Use any one (from among the popular ones)that appeals to you most. Use NCERT + one IIT-JEE guide.

Anonymous,
how many times you will appear in engineering entrance exams? Engineering is not the only career available to a student at present. Try to explore some simpler option- BBA, Hotel Management,...etc. I do not approve taking drop for third year.
Apurva
complex number is not properly given in the NCERT. Ask your teacher to teach you complex number is a little more detail. Or study the theory of complex number from some IIT-JEE guide. Give importance to studying the POLAR FORM of complex number and its benefits in Multiplication, Division, Power, Root (de Moivre's formula). If you have no teacher then watch videos on Complex Number on you tube
