National, 29th July, 2013: Oxford Bookstore with WWF- India presents ‘TasteofAssam@ChaBar’ – Try the single estate tea flavours of Budlabeta, Hapjan, Khobong Sessa as well as Cha Bar blend and Organic Assam in the Cha Bar Menu and contribute towards conserving the one-horned rhino and its habitat in India’s North Eastern state of Assam. Oxford Bookstore is matching the contributions from sales of its Assam teas to contribute to WWF India’s one-horned Rhino conservation project in Assam. Beginning from 29th July, 2013 at CHA Bar, Oxford Bookstore across Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Bhubaneswar.
Observing World Conservation day, July 29th, Oxford Bookstores today announced a pan-India partnership with WWF-India towards raising funds, raising public consciousness and sharing responsibility on sustainably conserving the one-horned rhino and its habitat in India’s North Eastern state of Assam. From Teas from Assam sold in the Cha Bar, contributions in eight cities will be set aside, and the donation matched by Oxford Bookstores to fund the WWF- India’s conservation project of the One-Horned Rhino. Customers of Bookstores in 11 cities will also directly but voluntarily donate towards the Give Back to Nature initiative of WWF-India – wherein Oxford Bookstores will join WWF-India in organizing their successful Wild Wisdom Quiz programmes in CBSE schools across the country, to create consciousness on social responsibility for sustainable environment and encourage young children to test their green quotient.
WWF-India is one of the largest conservation organizations in the country, engaged in wildlife and nature conservation. The aim of the project is to safeguard the natural habitats of the rhinos in India’s North Eastern state of Assam and prevent them from extinction. Presently there are only 2700 surviving rhinoceros in India.
