eBay scam ahoy!

Hey one and all, check this one out; you may or may not be aware of this common eBay scam, but it's certainly around and kicking!

It's called the "Item Not Received" scam.

Basically, Dave is a seller, and Bob is a buyer.

Dave sells a game to Bob by first class post, which Bob receives two days later, but Bob does't leave any feedback notifiying Dave of this! Naughty Bob.

Instead, Bob waits for 5 more days before e-mailling Dave saying something like this;

"Hi dave i have not got me game yet can you plz refund me all my munny dat i spent on ur game witch was £10 cheers fanx"

So, Dave gets this e-mail and is all like "omgwtf?". Dave's only option is to either refund the guy or send him another game since he hasn't got any proof whether or not Bob is lying as the postal service doesn't record this normally.

So Dave send him another game instead of refunding him.

"hi dave i got ur game nowz fanx lol" says Bob two days later.

Bob's got two games for the price of one! Well, guess what Bob does now?

"Cool game for sale! Brand new! Just £10! BUY IT NOWZ!" Bob yells as he sells the second game for £10. So, Bob's got a free game at the end of it! NAUGHTY BOB!

The moral of this story is to be aware of people who seem a bit weird via e-mail, or impatient on eBay or similar sites when you sell them something. It's always your call whether or not to complete the sale to them, you have every right to cancel a sale if you're being pushed into doing something you don't think is quite right.
