WHAT THE HELL IS NEXT?! I mean some of the article is fine because the point of research is to learn new things. Its when people put it to egotistical and self serving use just to please an inate need to have it their way. I'm not saying its wrong, because its if anything instinct to be like that. Things like choosing your baby's sex is crossing a line. Only, because thats not a disease of defect your curing or undoing. You're doing it for the mere reason of prefference and that is wrong. However they can put the same technology to good use to cure diseases and such. Technology should benefit mankind, not serve our apparently inate obsession with pretty things. The whole idea of the perfect person/race has been explored already and look at what happened. Dare I say the name Hitler? If we can't learn from the past it proves we are all just about as intelligent as a discount brick. I think its well to do to take a very careful approach to this and not let our ego's and such get the better of us. Also for you religous type I say this, so what we play a little god, its not against the laws of nature to use what you learn now is it? Damned right its not, whats the difference between learning animal is dangerous like a black widow and figuring out howto control what we are/will be. If medical science can rid us of disease,birth defects and of the like then hell, I'll down right support that. More over I'd approve of it and I'm sure most of you would too. I'm gonna touch on cloning here for a sec since this goes hand in hand. Have you even considered that identical twin is a naturely occuring clone? Wrap your minds around that people. I dare you to put your bibles down and open your mind to new possibilities.
