Here is my tell all on my love afair with Linux. It started years ago, on a whim I bought a copy of Manadrake's Linux version 6.5 Deluxe. Believe it or not walmart used to sell it. I installed it on my PC and then I wresteled with it a good two weeks before I got a decent command of using it. I was like this isn't so bad its just different. After using Linux for a while along windows I decided to ditch windows completly since I was feed up with its problems and issues. I went all Linux for a while and in all honesty I enjoyed it. I then got a copy of windows XP and ditched Linux for a while. However I had tons of issues with it and got so feed up. I then rememeber how much better life was with only Linux so I decided to do it again with a different distro. I choose Slackware and went for it. It was very tough for a while cause Slackware was without any bells or whistels. So I started to learn about Linux the real way, eventually I got the hang of it. After that for years I used only slackware and tested some other distros along the way. After years of Slackware I decided to use something nicer with some bells and whistels. I ended up using SuSe 9.3 Pro, its proved a good choice. I have the ease of yast and rpms, but still the ability to hack the kernel to my harts content. Over all my expiriance has shown me Linux is without a doubt the superior OS, however it doesn't have the specialized software support that windows has, thats the only plus windows has at all. A ways back I realized there was a non M$ os that had it all MAC OS X. All the special apps I wanted and the stability of FreeBSD. Oh, I became a FreeBSD junky to along thee way and I love it more then even Linux. FreeBSD isn't the best Desktop OS, that I'd have to give to Linux or OS X, despite the fact its a UNIX. Unlike Mirosoft's Windows things just work and don't break unless you really fuck with them. Plus virii and spyware get cut out completly a major plus. Since in todays world SPYWARE IS A PLAUGE. Even my very well patched and maintained copy of XP gets bad things despite my efforts and skill of many many years of using windows. I mean I do PC repair and web design and hosting for a living, so I'm not N00B with windows, I know my shit. My advice to you people is GET RIDE OF IE, and use FireFox. Trust me on that.
