Browsers a close look

I wanted to take a moment and take a closer look at browsers in general. We have three browsers that we should worry about which are listed in order below. I will discuss at length my thoughts and experiences about each.
FireFox, I love this browser and depend on it from day to day. I use it heavily at work and at home. I've had very little problems ever and can't say anything bad. The only thing that gets me is the fact it likes consume ram, but then again I have 3 windows with a good number of tabs open. Also the fact there are tons of extensions that can easily make the browser do and behave like you want it to.
Opera, lets not forget it, since this blog is hosted by them. I also think its a nice browser with a very good feature set out of the box. Not as extensible nor does it have the number of extensions FireFox does, but widgets are a close second. Bottom line its a good browser and its by far the fastest I've ever seen. One last plus they make it for everything from computers to PDAs and cell phones. My blackberry uses a install of Opera Mini 2.0 rather than its default browser. Major credit to Opera for that.
Internet Explorer, the only thing good to say is that IE 7 just finally ripped off FireFox's interface. Otherwise its far more prone to security issues and it loves interact with the OS on deep levels. At least with FireFox most times you hear about a security bug they have already fixed it and released a new version. In light of the fact IE is so hooked into the OS, it takes longer and far more testing to make patches. I don't recommend using this browser, I say use FireFox or Opera instead. Last but not least never expect IE to be fully standards compliant(W3C). IE 7 did a good job of making use web developers get called by clients demanding to fix a site. They should have left the it as is until it was as compliant as FF. As of this month its becoming a required update too. At least it sucks a bit less than IE 6 did.
