Some interesting items about power consumption around the house...

I read an interesting article somewhere that if your power adapter connected to whatever gadget is warm while idle, it's using electricity. So unplugging it makes sense.

I have an older Dell Latitude, power brick is warm when off, meaning it's wasting electricity. An older iBook is cold when not charging, and my newer MacBook is cold when off. So 2-out-of-3 isn't bad, is it?

I was stunned by the amount of electricity used by things just plugged in, or left ON, but not being used. This idle power usage should be easily addressed with better software in all our gagdets soon.

So, unplug it and/or turn it OFF, if possible.
