Frozen Moments

Strolling through the gardens, one sometimes happens upon some of nature's finest creations.

Take a bored photographer, a bag of sand and 80 cents to spend, and a youth of not playing with toy soldiers. The result: Well... this.

Light was poor, and most animals were behind glass (making photography hard, as most pictures ended up with a ghost-me in it).. only the few I did manage to get a decent shot of ended up here.

Notes to self: 1. Get a decent zoom-lens. 2. Get a tripod.

In the never ending quest for finding things to photograph, I've decided to take pictures whenever having cooked up something I'm the slightest bit proud of.. we'll start off with the Gado-gado from a few days ago.

You may notice that most of the things I cook are vegetarian.. it's the Right Thing.

My sisters and I visited the Spoorwegmuseum (railway museum) in Utrecht last weekend - one lesson I learned there regarding photography: Indoor photography is difficult! Most shots ended up under- or overexposed, much to the chagrin of my sister.. here's what I managed to salvage.

This started out as shots of doggies.. but then a horse joined the club.. and some goats. And a sheep. And before I knew it, there was almost an entire petting zoo in the album.

This album contains some pictures I took while experimenting with my camera the night after I first got it. Looking back on it now, a few weeks later, they're not really something I'm proud of.. just keeping them until I need space.

The rush of the first time going out taking pictures of things.. Overexposing? Motion blur? Hah.. I laughed at these things... looking back, I should have listened to my mom and become a lumberjack.
