Snow

Did you get any...snow?

We ended up with loads, most unusual for Lancashire.

Last night after coming from friends I was mortified to see an almost glass surface on side roads outside my son's gf's parents house. It had been raining whilst we were having our meal so we thought it would have melted rather than froze the surface.

Looks like America was swamped with the white stuff..hope we do not get the backend of that little lot.

Remembering the tsunami: 'We'll never really forget'

Today we remember the dead from the tsunami of boxing day 2004,

Banda Aceh, Indpearedonesia (CNN) -- Crowds attended prayers and other ceremonies across Asia on Saturday to mark the anniversary of the deadly Indian Ocean tsunami that killed about 250,000 people in 14 countries five years ago in waves up to 100 ft high in 14 countries five years ago today.

The towering waves left hundreds of thousands displaced on coastlines across Africa and Asia.
The theory going round at the time, along with several others was, the sea plates being dislodged after quakes occured prior to the tunsami.

Such was the devastation that some Islands disapeared completely, and generations along with it.

BADUNG: Today's young students, not the world leaders at UN climate talks in Copenhagen, will be the ones battling to save the planet if predictions of catastrophic temperature rises come true.

And few may be better equipped to deal with that nightmare than graduates of a unique eco-school on the Indonesian island of Bali, where an innovative curriculum has been designed to produce future "stewards of the environment".

Some 4,000 Christians to take part in Christmas parade in Kuching

, , ,

This will be very nice to see and listen to too,

It would also be very nice to have our soldiers home for Christmas because all war is at an end...please God.

Not many realise that Christmas is also celebrated in an Islam country. In Malaysia its a public holiday like we have, is celebrated in style. People are invited into others houses for a 'Christmas feed'. Mind you I have to leave the weather to my vivid imagination how Christmas can be as hot as 32C. No snowballs in Malaysia but I would swap the cold and dreary, and the chance of the aweful white stuff for Christmas in Malaysia

Today whilst I was out Christmas shopping it started to snow, so a very good chance of a white Christmas here. On the bright side it stayed light till 16.15, an extra 15 minutes of daylight..:sing:

KUCHING: Around 4,000 Christians will be spreading the message of peace and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas during a Christmas parade on Saturday evening.Themed ‘Jesus Grants You Peace’, the parade is jointly held by Kuching District Methodist churches together with Catholic churches and Anglican churches.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, organising chairman William Ting said members of all churches would be holding candles and singing Christmas carols to sym-bolise the angels proclai-ming the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago.
