Guess, in this world there's no such big happy family. Just small happy family unit. Well, that's based my own experience.
Notes:
1. Ua= Mother's or Father's big brother or sister
2. WE= my sister and I
3. Shaum= fasting for Muslim
4. Jati= one of the finest wood. I don't know the Latin word for it.
I don't know why but an uncle from my father's side hates mom. so far I know, mom never hates other people. guess he's jealous.
so my aunty and my uncle in law from my mom's side too. she hated mom coz mom's wants everything place according the legal law. but she thought greedily.
If I see my own family, we are just an average one. My mom is Government teacher. My dad is Government officer in Farming Dept. Their rank in Government aren't high so the salary too is in average. But my mom's struggle making me and my sister went to the college were based on her experience who weren't went to the college because my granny and grandad couldn't afford the school fees.
My mom worked for my Ua to get an education because she wanted studying. She went to the college in an age of around 45. It happened after my sister and I graduated from college.
We rarely have fancy stuffs coz my mom wanted us pursuit education higher and higher. In the past, our home was shabby, there was lots of leak from the roof, the wall, the ceiling. It got worst in the rainy seasons. Got flood in our home. But WE didn't feel any shame. WE feel happy until now despite our home. And we still not fixed our home coz need lots of money to repair everything.
The stuffs like sofa, chair, table were in shabby condition too. It's just fixed once over 10 years in our life. So, we ain't have any decent furniture. Now, we get new one in 2009. Because, there's no money for college fees. So, step by step my mom buy the furniture and other things.
The first, is refrigerator. We're facing shaum and we agreed to buy it to keep the food in good condition. We no longer needed to buy food daily.
Second, washing machine. We really need it coz when the rainy season approaching the clothes sometimes weren't dry enough. We got troubled coz the clothes that didn't dry get smelly and must washed again. It was double work.
Third, TV (ordinary one). we buy the new one because the old one can't be fixed. The button were damaged and the TV didn't have a remote control coz it was an old one (bought it when I was in elementary school, around 1980's I guess).
Fourth, the living room's furniture, made from the finest wood Jati. Mom's said, it was expensive but it is durable, stronger in any condition, can pass to the future generation.
Fifth, the kitchen set's furniture made from Jati too.
In 2000, we bought computer PC pentium III along with printer. In 2008, my sis bought notebook using her own money. I bought it too in 2010.
If you see my home and compared it with my uncle's, aunt's, ua's, it's so so ordinary. But we like it coz it's cozy, lots of green, and bright.
WE had Bachelor of Art Degree. Mine-English Department and my sister-Japanese Department. I went into two universities. The reason was my BA was non-education degree. Teaching students need teaching certificate. So, I studied again to get my Teaching certificate.
I have double advantages. I can get any work unrelated in teaching and can become a teacher in the same time.
Now, WE have jobs. My sister in a factory and become one of the regular staff. and I become a teacher (not a government teacher yet). The payment is based the work hours. So I teach in two schools. It's vocational school. I like it because I gained many lessons, lots knowledge and experiences from the students. So, it's mutual benefits, right. I like being a teacher. I get a lots of free time coz the schedule are manageable. We can choose what day and what time which convenience.
Teaching in government school and private school have each benefits. So, I will keep teaching in both schools.
Maybe because of my parents' successful parentage, WE become successful person. WE have life, jobs, things WE want.
That makes people jealous. Well, If you jealous why don't you do the same in your life. Struggle to achieve the best for you.
The first and most important lesson from my parents is always pray to Allah because Allah will keep you humble, forgive your sin, find you the light when you feel darkness, keep you in the right track, keep you healthy, give you everything in this world easily. Allah Maha Pengasih dan Maha Penyayang. Amin
