As I think back to the Ashley Smith case and what I have learned about it well in school and in the news I have felt a deep sadness for our country and the people who have to deal with the case. People with mental illness get over looked everyday in the world we live I would like to think in this country Canada the so called best country in the world we would be a bit more sensitive to people with mental illness by giving the people who need it the help they need from the start. Ashley Smith was one of many cases this country has let down how many more people with the country let down. The big question is how did Ashley Smiths Case turn into a death sentence she was suppose to be in jail for a few months it turned into years and then her death. I think we need to stop this from ever happing again. Reading the paper today I seen another case about another girl going to jail for being out of control I wonder will history repeat its self will another girl not get the help she needs will Canada let down someone else with a mental illness time will only time. This girls lawyer says this to him looks just like the Ashley Smith Case all over again we need to speak out and not let this happen to a young Girl Again we need to stand up and speak out. I think we all need to be there for the youth of today no matter what all I can say to all of this is I hope this girl and others like Ashley Smith gets the help she needs. Looking at the Ashley Smith Case makes me sad Canada let down this girl and as a people we need to make shore history never repeats itself ever. If anything we need to learn from what has happened with Ashley Smith and use what we learned to make new guidelines, rules, and polices to help us help the people who need it with there mental Illness not just lock them up and through away the key it is not right to do nothing well someone suffers with any Illness. Just because you can not always see a mental Illness dose not mean there is nothing wrong we need to make shore we help in everyway we can with all the resources we can get our hands on. People with Mantel Illnesses derives the best quality of life just like anyone else and that is my thought on this subject.
