PROCLAMATION OF THE REPUBLIC
Today was a national holiday. Pretty much everyone had the day off. In the evening our friends Glória and Guilherme picked us up and took us out to dinner at La Massa, a fine Italian restaurant specializing in pasta. Bob and I stuffed ourselves with stuffed shells. Yum.

Today was supposed to be a normal old regular day, but lots of people were on vacation, so I sat around Gringolândia while Bob cleaned the place.
SATURDAY, November 17. 2007
Bob and I walked downtown for lunch today. Bob walked across town on an adventure, stopping only when he had reached the horizon.
I walked home and made a fruit salad.

After lunch at Barrigão, Bob and I walked over to see Heidi, Marcelo, Bianca, and Lexy at their new house.
They are more or less moved in. By the looks of Lexy’s face, they haven’t yet unpacked the washcloths or soap.
I took pictures of myself with Bianca and Lexy. I can’t figure out why I’m the only one who appears unprepared for the photo, when I’m the one clicking the shutter.
The new house is behind the tattoo studio, and features high ceilings.
After the place has been tidied, I can take more photos.
Bob and I walked to Carrefour, since we were out of cajá, graviola, and açaí-guaraná yogurt.
What? Don’t you have Kissy Brand yogurt in your country?
We watched two videos at home in the afternoon.

YIKES! I must be in a routine rut. The days are beginning to seem indistinguishable. I always get SOMETHING done before lunch. Monday I went to the travel industry union to promote Gringolândia ® brand English. Wednesday I met with the principal again at Colégio São Francisco.
Every morning Bob goes into Gringolândia, and I meet him for lunch downtown. Then we walk to Gringolândia together. I’ve been tutoring a pilot in the early afternoon. After that I wait for the evening tutoring or teaching sessions. I get home around 9 or 10 at night. It feels so much like work that I forget to do the touristy things I’m supposed to do... like taking pictures.
This lucky dog lives above a meat market down the street from Gringolândia.
When I need more photos for the blog, I just run upstairs and start shooting.
What? Does this mean my blog is losing its edge?
