Lunch, books, and driving

So today I got to meet up with my friends Albert and Ivy who I haven't seen in probably over a year. It's been a long time. It was good to catch up and enjoy a nice lunch, even if Ivy got lost on her way and was a little late (I guess my directions didn't help her too much
). I think this meeting has inspired me to start bothering other people who I haven't talked to in a long time and see what they are all up to. I got a week to do nothing so I may as well see who's up to what.
I also seem to be surrounded by people who are really into reading at the moment and it kinda got me thinking that I should read a few books, but the problem is I have no idea what to read. So I went to Chapters and walked around for awhile, which isn't a good idea if you have no idea what you want. I eventually ended up in the new paperback section and found two authors (Jeffery Deaver and James Siegel) who seem to have some interesting stories. I think they are thrillers so I'm hoping they'll be similar to the Michael Crichton/Dan Brown style of writing that I enjoy. I'll let you know how they are and maybe make some recommendations if they are really good.
Ok now for my random story. So I was backing out of a parking spot in the plaza today and there was a giant white SUV beside me on the passenger side so of course I can't see anyone coming from that direction. I start backing out slowly until I see a van drive up and I stop which is fine, so I continue and then I see the front of an aqua green crappy looking car and i slam on the brakes again and this woman just keeps going until she's gotta be within an inch of my bumper. And to top it all off, her and her friend give me the dirtiest look which makes no sense b/c it's not like I was flying out without looking. She obviously wasn't paying attention or she would have noticed a car slowly backing out in her way and she could have either stopped or given me the courtesy honk which would have been useful since I obviously couldn't see her until she was practically right behind me. I hate people. This kinda thing happens all the time where I know that if I wasn't paying attention then my car would be totalled by now b/c stupid other people are too busy chatting away or talking on their cell phone. This is exactly why I don't drive anywhere. Anyways, that's my little rant on how much I hate other drivers. Oh and before I go, Green Bay drafted A.J. Hawk, he's a good solid linebacker and should be good for years to come so I'm excited, hopefully we'll be able to stop someone this year. Go Pack!!!!
