So today I performed surgery on a calf for an umbilical hernia, almost completely on my own (I was talked through it at one point but that was it, I did all the cutting and suturing). That was a good pick me up after what I saw the day before. Basically we planned to do an enucleation on a beef cow but the cancer had spread so much that there really was no eye left, it was really disgusting and extremely vascular which made it more difficult. I'm still not sure how but we managed to close the eye completely after we had removed as much cancer as possible. It was insane. Final thing that I have for tonight is that I may be able to see a cruciate surgery at some point next week, I guess things are looking up now.
