The Housemaid

The Housemaid

Based on Kim Ki-young’s 1960 film of the same name, the Im Sang-soo remake is now competing at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival in France and is available in English subtitles at designated local theaters. Bright and cheerful divorcee Eun-i (Jeon Do-yeon) starts working as a maid for an elite couple, Hun (Lee Jung-jae) and Hae-ra (Seo Woo). Meanwhile Hun seduces Eun-i, but it isn’t long until veteran housemaid Byeong-sik (Youn Yuh-jung) senses the affair and Hae-ra tries to ``fix’’ the situation without compromising her position as mistress of the house. 18 and over. 106 minutes. English subtitles available at CGV Gangnam and Myeongdong.
