'Korea's little chance for next round in World Cup'

A well-known British newspaper forecast that South Korea’s team will fail to advance into the second round.

In its predictions on the World Cup tournaments, the Daily Mail said in its online that South Korea, which is the 47th in the world ranking, will remain in the group stage.

The newspaper predicted that among the Group B teams, Argentina and Greece will advance into the second round.

South Korea is “a team with plenty of individual talent but few are expecting them to repeat the heroics of 2002,” according to the report.

It also introduced team captain Park Ji-sung as “Manchester United’s hard-working” player who “will be hoping to match the semi-final success of 2002.”

It said the Korean team has old boy Ahn Jung-hwan, 34, who “scored the golden goal winner against Italy in 2002” and young gun Lee Chung-yong, 21, who has “sensational debut season in midfield for Bolton, a creative spark who has an eye for goal.”
