Samsung Electronics, the runner-up to Finland-based Nokia in the global handset industry, plans to further expand its full-touch screen mobile models in 2010 inspired by steady remarkable growth in the sector.
Samsung officials say gaining a bigger share of the full touch-screen market is necessary considering there's healthy demand for feature-loaded mobiles and increased awareness of user-interface (UI) at a time when handset vendors are busy strengthening their smartphone portfolios.
Samsung said handsets using full touch-screens will account for about 20 percent of its mobile phone sales this year. In 2008, such phones made up only 5 percent of Samsung's total sales.
