DVD

Just finished watching "Journey to the Center of the Earth" starring Brendan Frasier on DVD. The movie was OK, it's not that great but it's a fun film to watch (And this made me wanna read Jules Verne's original novel). The visuals & effects are pretty nice. So if your looking for something fun to watch try watching this film and also try to read the Jules Verne book.

It's been a while since I updated this blog. But I'll try to update it frequently, both with useful & non sense stuff.

Hyperdesk, Windows XP, Themes
A lot of people still prefer XP over Vista. But compared to Vista, XP lacks eye candy. But you can update the look of XP by using programs such as WindowsBlinds and Hyperdesk.I prefer Hyperdesk, because it uses XP's own skinning engine so it doesn't take as much resources. It's not free but it's not that expensive, a theme costs around $10 - $14, but you can try the Sony Ericsson Onyx Series Theme for free. A Vista version is being developed.

It’s been a while since I updated my blog, and I should do this very often. So what’s new? Nothing much, still has slow web access and I’m really getting bored taking in calls. But I have no choice right now but to do it, I mean I need to earn some income.I filed for 2 days vacation just to get off the phones and just relax for a while.

I've been complaining about Smart's slow internet connection and I can't wait to switch to Globe. After days of contacting Globe's customer support for the correct settings and activation of my internet, I finally gave it a try and boy it's as slow as Smart. It seems that I can't get a decent 3G signal in our area. Well it seems that I'm stuck w/ slow internet for now.

movie

I decided to watch Speed Racer right after work, I would like to watch it at IMAX but the idea of going to Mall of Asia just to watch it discouraged me. So I just decided to go to our local mall. I'm no movie critic, but overall Speed Racer is a very fun film, it's a visually appealing high speed film. Very different from the previous films by the Wachowski Brothers. I'm not really familiar with the original anime series, maybe I should look for it on dvd. Well if you're looking for a film with lot's of eye candy & mindless fun Speed Racer is definitely a GO!

Vacation, Calatagan
Ok this actually happened last week and I'm just writing about it today. I went to Calatagan,Batangas with 2 of my office mates. We stayed there for 2 days & 3 nights for a complete total relaxation. It was a relief to be off the phones and away from irate customers. And all we did was hit the beach, eat, sleep, build sand castles and play with Zion (he's an adorable labrador). It was actually my 3rd time to return to Calatagan and it won't be my last. I hope to finally see the parola (lighthouse) on my next return.

Smart claims that you can get up to 384 kbps where 3G coverage is available. But since trying their service I was able to connect only once to their 3G network, most of the time it's GPRS I believe. So most of the time it's a bit slow, which is tolerable for basic web use but never mind going to sites like YouTube which takes half a lifetime to load. Thank God I was able to try their Prepaid service first, I don't think I 'll sign up for Smart Bro on a monthly subscription. I'll stick with their prepaid or until Globe Telecom decides to stop charging per kilobyte for their prepaid customers.

Whew finally my first entry, after all these time of planning and planning and more planning, I finally have my own blog. I started the day, literally @ 12:00am when I reported to work as a customer care rep for a major American satellite tv company. I was in what they call a 4 day work week, which means I only report to work 4 days a week but I have to spend almost 11 hours in the office. And it was draining, I'm already considering switching careers or maybe I just need a good long vacation. We'll I better start planning now before it's too late. My goal is starting this year, I'll start enjoying my life. Care to join?
