Me too! But if you try to dry their fur wit a hairdryer, that is what they don't like! At least my aunt's cat doesn't like that. If he hears the sound and feels a hairdryer he immediately starts to jump over room like crazy.
My family dog doesn't like being dried with a hairdrier either, she hates having wet fur though, so she is quite happy to let us rub her down with bath towels
Usually pets consider you either as the alpha of the pack or their mom. As result they probably like to be licked as moms do with puppets. Rubbing them with the towel is obviously closer to licking than the electrical hairdryer.
Kirsten, I guess your dog likes her water flavored, like some people like coke instead of water Besides, some dogs, especially hunting dogs, like to jump in water whenever they have the chance. And more the water is dirty, more fun they seem to have.
hehe, maybe that's what it is, maybe she finds it comforting! She does seem to enjoy it
Maybe she knows something I don't, i've never tried stagnant water...maybe it's really nice! Maybe it tastes like green tea (I suspect it's quite similar!)
Maybe your home water tastes a little like chlorine because it is the common additive for reducing the bacteria presence in drinkable water. You know "tastes" are actually "smells" because our tongue can recognize only basic tastes like acid-salt-sweet-metallic etc, so when you drink or eat actually you feel the "smell" of food. And dogs do have a better nose than us.
Oh, do not drink "stagnant" water, you would probably develop some diarrhoea from it. Or worse. It depends mostly if it is contaminated by feces.
I guess rain water has got a better smell for Rhona.
Think of those poor sailors who had to stay at sea for months with sweet water kept in wooden barrels all the way. I guess it became putrid after a relatively short time and then probably they had to add vinegar or alchool.
Feel like I have a really bad cold now, horrible headache and sneezing and coughing...I still don't feel well and can't go very far when i try to leave the flat. I have to go back to work on Sunday though
Mind you, i've been indoors for 3 days now...I think i'm starting to go a little bit crazy! Maybe it's a good thing to be thrown back into the real world!
I hate being cooped up indoors for so long! I want to go for walks and get some fresh air! I don't know what work will do to me though...I certainly wouldn't want my coffee made by someone who was sneezing and coughing! I have to go back though, it will have been 4 days since my last day there!
Kirsten, may I suggest you should know your contract a little better?
Unfortunately I don't know anything about working in Scotland. Here if you have got a regular contract as employee you can be on payed "sick leave" for 6 months. Of course your sickness must be certified by a doctor. Then there are "temporary" contracts (which usually get renewed as trick to not sign a regular contract) and those are legally based on some achievement (like a project done), not the hours you work. Basically you don't have any guarantee because you are considered like a consultant. This kind of contracts are semi-legal because often are abused.

My dog prefers to drink out of the toilet, or from the stagnant water in the basin in the garden, than drink from her nice clean water dish

hmm, I don't think rhona prefers stinky rain water over tap water because she is worried about the chlorine content
