sweet nothings...

afternoon tea at my favourite tea house :)

Today I went back to the cute little cafe I went to this time last month http://my.opera.com/kirstycat/blog/2009/09/23/little-tea-party-celebration , this time with my mum  We had a big pot of tea, with a sweet knitted bee tea cosy on the teapot  My mum had butterscotch coffee cake, I couldn't resist getting the lovely chocolate cake I had the last time. I could only manage half the slice again though! I took the other half home in a little bag for my boyfriend

oooooooooooooow i want this cafe here!!
seriously...is that a dinner made of chocolate? :eyes: Cause that can't be a cake...that looks like my daily calorie intake right there

least you took it home this time

 yes, it isn't exactly the heathy option! But sometimes a girl just has to have a bit of chocolate cake! I don't have it very often, and when I do, I want it to be a good one

I only managed about a third of this slice anyway, they really are ginormous! Especially difficult to finish when you are attempting to drink half a giant teapot of tea at the same time!

I learned my lesson this time though, and started methodically and neatly at one end, stopping when I could manage no more, and didn't mash it up and explode it all over the plate like I did last time :D

Love the teapot covering! It is so cute.

This butterscotch coffee cake sounds and looks great, would like to try it one day... I'd like to try butterscotch too.

Anita: you've never tried butterscotch? Is it just something you can get over here then?

Olgita: I'll post my leftover bit of cake to Moscow next time

I've never tried butterscotch. And I think it is hard to find it here like is self raising flour, but I found out on the net how to make homemade self raising flour! I wonder, could butterscotch be homemade prepared?

kirstycat 23. October 2009, 07:56

I'm sure there must be a way to make butterscotch at home!

I had to make my own self raising flour too for a while, when I lived in owe of the many countiries that don't seem to use it (maybe no other places than the UK/Australia/NZ/Canada sell it?!)

If I came across the recipe, I'll certainly try to make butterscotch!

Is there stuff like butter beer there?

kirstycat 23. October 2009, 09:10

butter beer? never heard of it...is it a kind of beer?

It is, I read about in some novel... but never mind, it seems it was made up in that book...

It might just be me who doesn't know about it...did you read about it in lord of of the rings? It gets mentioned in there I think
