sweet nothings...

dog gardener

Every time I sit down at my kitchen window with a cup of tea, I always seem to see this man zooming around on his little red lawnmower, looking after the grass on the cricket pitch. He always has his dog with him though, and it makes me smile to watch as the dog happily trots up and down the field, following the lawnmower, jumping around and wagging it's tail  I miss living with a dog! I miss the mess and chaos, laughing at the funny things they do everyday, the fluff and hairs all over my clothes, the sharing of everything I eat, the comforting doggy smells and hairy cuddles...

You could ask for that man's job.

now there's an idea! It looks like fun buzzing around a field on what is really just a big quad bike, no wonder he does it so much

Yes, when Forrest gets rich he comes back to his hometown and happily mows the local football playfield for free as "job".

I miss my Lamia that is with my parents. She knows that she won't get a snack from me until she'll do some tricks for me, so she's following the rules automatically even if I don't ask her: "1. give a paw, 2. second one, 3. sit, 4. lie down, 5. get up" and she repeats the whole sentence over and over until the snack arrives.
And the best is when she lies on a sofa when anyone can see her. She's not allowed on "human sits" (except when she was ill), but if somebody can find her lining on the sofa then she goes to hide herself in the bathroom and makes noise that sounds "I'm very sorry, but I had to"

My dad trained the family dog to hurl herself enthusiastically onto the ground and roll onto her back with her legs in the air, when told to 'die for Scotland!' Then she gets her biscuit or toast crust

Her favourite place to sit in the house is also right underneath the 'biscuit cupboard' in the hall, looking up at the shelf longingly and squeaking

We gave up trying to stop her from sleeping on the sofas (she would just do it at night after everyone had gone to bed!) and eventually just gave her her own fluffy sleeping blanket on the sofa :D
