I let Chris out of the buggy for a wander alongside the diggers this morning, so he could press himself up against the wire railings and squeal excitedly at the work men I quite like the road works in a way, they make great free entertainment for Chris, and the railings make handy toddler guards so I don't have to worry about Chris running on to the road most of the time! It's a bit of a pest when you do actually want to cross the road though and you have to walk for what feels like miles in one direction until you eventually get to a pedestrian path!
I am now quite the digger expert, and can chat to Chris about all the diggers and mini diggers, forklift trucks, steamrollers, backhoe loaders, tractors and dump trucks...pointing out the boom, bucket and ram and various digger tool attachments (his favourite book is one by mega machine drivers called 'This is my digger'). I wonder if little girls are as obsessed with diggers?!
