Malang Toys and Comic Convention 2008 in a Super Late Coverage

, , , ...

I opened Miff-Miff-san's blog few days ago and it reminded me that I didn't have the coverage of Malang Toys and Comic Convention 2008 that was held on November 21 - 23. So I typed it at once though it had been too late. Happy reading! Or just look at the pictures if you are too lazy too read. Hehehe...

Day 1: The Opening Day
Meeting Unexpected People

I met Yoma-san and G-On-san there. I didn’t like the meeting too much. But as a good schoolmate, I greeted them and asked them for a photo session. They're in the picture beside. It was taken by using handycam, so the quality is so poor. Huh!

I just told Miff-Miff-san that I hated meeting someone I knew in such an occasion. It seemed like I was so unlucky that I suddenly saw someone unexpected. He's Adwin-san, Lovi-san’s ex-boyfriend. Damn!

When he saw me, I turned back at once, hoping he wouldn’t recognize me. I felt like a criminal who ran away from a cop. I tried my best to hide. But it seemed like he had recognized me. I knew he pretended to window shop from a stand to another but actually he wanted to see me.

He was suddenly behind me when I took a picture of a figure of a girl wearing bikini. I got so shocked and unintentionally cussed. He laughed. So I went away without greeting him. I knew that he knew I always got so nervous if I met him. I knew he liked seeing me nervous like that. Aarrgghh!

I avoided him by going to Dé Palm Café for an extra lunch. I was so relieved he had left when I got back to MTCC zone. And fortunately someone had cured the bad day.

Mr X! Yay!

The Super Duper Awesome deviantART-ists

I met Adhyt-san and Aji-san in deviantART stand. They were drawing. There were some artworks on the table. Two of them were the ones Adhyt-san took on his deviantART gallery. So cool!

I interviewed them a little about digital coloring. They told me that they use tablet pen. I envied them! I really wanted to have one since I always colored my artworks by using mouse. It’s horrible! I also asked for their deviantART so I could watch them.

Falling In Love with Cosuki

The cosplay for the day was Death Note and any Japanese uniform. The performers were from Cosuki. Most of the members were college students. I was confused of how to told them that I want to take their picture. But Miff-Miff-san was so brave to say, “Excuse me! Can I borrow the L?”

L is cool! But the guy who performed Yagami Light was too cute. He looked like Ave-san, my classmate. There was a guy wore girls uniform. Couldn’t say he’s handsome. But I salute his courage to wear such girl stuffs. Awesome and ridiculous!

Day 2: The Most Awesome Day
Yukovany-senpai and a Junior Girl

The show wasn’t started and there was nothing on the stage. I took a picture of a guy constructing a Gundam Kit. Dara approached and told me that Yukovany-senpai was there in MTCC zone. She asked me if I wanted to meet him. I said I did. I really wanted to ask so many things about internet business, but…

“He’s with a girl,” Dara-san then said.

Damn! So I say, “No way, then!” in my coldest way of addressing person. I wouldn’t disturb their date, even if it was just to greet him, “Konnichiwa, Senpai!”

I Broke Strawberry’s Rule

Strawberry is a shop that sold girl stuffs. Actually, we werren’t allowed to take any picture there. It was what written in a board there. But I got so tempted to open my camera lens when I saw at the ceiling. The lamps were so cool!

So I turned on my camera, and tried to hide it behind my back when the lens moved opening. I turned off the blitz. I held the camera in a position that no one would think I was going to take a picture. I pretended looking at the stuffs while my fingers hit the capture button. I turned it off at once.

A shop keeper seemed to suspect me but I then held my camera in the position she could see the LCD screen was off. Haha!

Cosuki in Cosplay Cabaret! Banzai!

The story of the play was just like the parody of Swan Lake. But the characters were taken from some anime characters. The princess was Alicia from Ragnarok, the prince was Zuko from Avatar the Legend of Aang, etc.

Prince Zuko made a ball at his palace. He was looking for a princess to marry but no girl was interesting for him. He went hunting and found a swan suddenly turned into a girl at night. She’s Princess Alicia. He invited her to his palace. But the fake-princess, the witch’s daughter, knew it and went to the palace to dance with the prince.

The people at the picture above are the prince’s guardians. The costumes were from Vampire Knight. And the most ridiculous thing was that actually the fake princess was a GUY! He’s in the picture in the left. And the girl in the right is Princess Alicia.

Mr X Looked So Cool

He wore white T-shirt, green vest with check pattern, a cap with the same color and pattern, a digital camera on his hand. So bad I just smiled to him, with no talking and no taking his picture. Uh!

I Got Proposed by Cosuki

The guy who performed Kadaj from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children suddenly greeted me and asked me if I wanted to be a cosplayer or not. He said I could be a cosplayer, a Cosuki member, if I had graduated from high school. And he gave me Cosuki’s contact number.

What a happy-happy day!

Day 3: The Last Day of Fun
I Hate Unpunctuality

From what I read on MTCC rundown, it should be Naruto Cosplay Contest at 10 am. So nothing more I could say but that Indonesians are so unpunctual. I had been knowing it since a long time before. The Naruto Cosplay Contest started at 6 pm while the run down said it started at 10 am. Oh crap!

I didn’t know what to do for such a boring 8 hours. I, Miff-Miff-san, and my Fiana-mouto had been sitting in the empty seat lines in front of the stage, watching a drummer checking the drum. I wanted to ask him, “Excuse me, can I play the drum?” But I was too shy to talk. So, boring went on…

We then decided to hang around the plaza and taking some pictures.

And after a long weird photo session, we went to Dé Palm Café to take some meal while waiting for the deviantART workshop. That's when I found Hannah-san and Wendy-san having a date.

Tablet! Oh, Tablet!

The deviantART workshop was about using tablet. I had been so desperate since I always color everything by using mouse. Horrible! Huh, they made me so envy!

Gundam Kit and Diorama Contest

Nothing else to say but SO COOL! I could hardly imagine how the Gundam freaks built a robot model from the tiny components.

And the dioramas are also cool!

Hannah-san and Her Secret Date! Oops...

, ,

Gossip Girl said you couldn't hide anything from her. Oops...

I took in Dé Palm Café, on the 3rd day of MTCC. I was inside the cafe, and they took seat in the outdoor. I got out at once and took the picture when I was finally sure that she's my schoolmate.

If you are the student of Bhawikarsu High School, you must know who is the girl in the picture below just by seeing her oriental straight hair. She's our super talented beautiful keyboardist of Nevarez, the best rock band of our school. Yup! She's no one else but Hannah-san from XII IA 6!

I can hardly believe that such a cool girl doesn't have a good enough taste of guy. Oops... The guy is Wendy-san from XII IA 4. Unbelievable! It's kind of hard for me to say that he's handsome or cool. His name is even a girl's... Hehehe...

Unfortunately, I couldn't capture her face. If I did it, this picture would be more expensive... She rejected to look at the camera and it was my fault to greet her. If I didn't greet her, maybe I could keep taking her picture without her knowing.

I Love Dé Palm Café

, ,

I went to this café twice a day at least during the 3 days of MTCC. It’s a cool enough family café. But the main reason to go there was because I could get me full with the super limited budget. Haha!

I love the acid jazz atmosphere of this café: red carpet, gloomy room with orange lamps (it’s the most important), red sofa and glass table near the window, a big table sets for a big crew, ivory sofa and glass table for VIP near the stage, small table sets for two or three or four outdoor and indoor, nice meals and beverage, and screen for movies (but the evening movies were mostly for 18+. Whoa…)! But I don’t like the wallpaper…

And here are my pictures, sitting on the VIP table and watching a Korean movie while waiting for Mr X (not really waiting, but looking around, hoping him to come). Oops… But since the café was rather dark, the pictures don't look so nice... So bad, huh!

Pink T-shirt and strawberry juice… Perfect!

It was an hour earlier before the time he usually came to MTCC though… He arrived at about 6 pm on the 1st and 2nd, while I always attended the programs since noon. Haha!

Mr X, Talk to Me, STUPID!

,

Even it's just about cosplay and the cosplayers. “The cosplayer girls are cute!” or, “The cosplayer guys are cool!”, or, “The host is so weird…”, or I could apologize since I and my schoolmates monopolized the cosplayers… ANYTHING! I didn’t even care what we would talk about. All I wanted was to talk.

I took that picture on Friday, the 1st day of MTCC (Malang Toys and Comic Convention). The blitz was on, hoping he would realize it and ask me, “Oops… Did you take my picture?” But he just looked at me, looked a bit shocked, and still kept silent. So I kindly politely smiled (to thank him for the photo and apologize for not asking permission, at least) and walked away. Huh, I'm so depressed!

I wished I could sit beside him on the next day while watching the cosplay cabaret. But he seemed to come late and got no seat. Huh... But I was glad enough that he was there, although I didn’t greet him and I knew he wouldn’t greet me. Uh... Great depressed!

I looked for him everywhere in the plaza on Sunday, the last day of MTCC, but he wasn’t there. If I knew he didn’t come, I would have had talk to him on the previous days. It’s a matter of some regret to me. Aarrgghh! Totally depressed!

I will really talk to him if we meet again later. Uh huh...
