How to prolong battery lifespan

Batteries... what a pain for environmental consciousness. Even those rechargeable, like lithium or niquel, have a very limited lifespan, up to 2-3 years. But it all depends how you treat them. It might even last shorter than this, depending on how you charge/recharge, and climate conditions. Therefore, I will write a list of suggestions an advice on increasing batteries lifespan here soon.
