Upgrade Java and SIMBL

java[1820] *** -[NSBundle load]: Error loading code /Library/InputManagers/SIMBL/SIMBL.bundle/Contents/MacOS/SIMBL for bundle /Library/InputManagers/SIMBL/SIMBL.bundle, error code 2 (link edit error code 0, error number 0 ())
The error didn't prevent my photo RDFization, but I was bothered that there was the error in the first place.
I had the java version "1.5.0_06" (of maybe August 2005?) and found out on ACD that there had been a release on 12jan2007 for 1.5.0_07. I upgraded, but I got the SIMBL error anyway when calling RDFPic.
I located SIMBL stuff on my machine, but was none the wiser. I googled SIMBL.
SIMBL (Smart InputManager Bundle Loader) - pronounced like "symbol" or "cymbal" allows you to build hacks for Cocoa applications and apply the code selectively based on an application's unique identifier.
I have no idea how SIMBL got installed on the Precious in the first place. But I installed the universal binary. And when I call RDFPic, not only does it keep working but also I don't get the error message anymore.
If you look in your console.log (Applications/Utiliites/Console.app), and search "simbl", you'll see that a lot of applications use it and that a lot of errors are written.

You use RDFPic on your photos? That's a good thing.

Coucou chaals :)
I've been (happily) using RDFPic since 2000, I think.
An intern worked on a new release last summer; I'll check it out in 2 days hopefully (I was even given an opportunity to request features!)

I don't have a lot of photos, and I put very few of them online. Maybe that is a *good* reason why I should use it.
Maybe I will stick something about handling the data in images onto the wishlist for my.Opera. I suspect it would take quite some time to get implemented though :|

I googled this error and yours was the first page I hit; and you don't realize it but you provided me with the clue to solve it.
The key things were:
1. I just today moved to a new Macbook from an old PB.
2. I didn't install SIMBL on the new Macbook.
3. I *did*, however, migrate my user and settings from the old PB.
I don't remember installing SIMBL on my PB, but I probably did at some point, and then it got migrated over. I was able to solve my problem by just deleting /Library/InputManagers/SIMBL.
Actually, I keep discovering more garbage that got migrated over; I'm beginning to think I should restore and restart...

I'm very glad if this was helpful to you!
I hope you enjoy your Macbook and that any garbage left over by the migration is not too bothersome.
Being lazy myself, I'd wait till the situation becomes unbearable before taking such a drastic action as starting from scratch.
Good luck!
