one day, I'll blog (here).

Apple crumble

, ,

Apple crumble could very well be my favourite food. That, and crepes.

I made my first ever apple crumble last night. I tried to remember how Chaals made it.
I don't think I got it as right, but it was pretty good.

Tonight we're making crepes.

Help them help meWhere are you travelling, m' darling?

Peel and chop the apples and put them in the dish you'll bake in. Sometimes I butter it first. Then I sprinkle sugar, a little lemon juice, and spices over them (ginger, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon tend to be the things I use).

Take what is allegedly one part butter, one part sugar, and two parts flour (either self-raising flour, if you live in a place like Australia where that is common, or add baking soda), and mix them together until they are like crumbs. I never measure the proportion, just adjust as I see fit, and again often add a lot of spices. sprinkle it over the apples about 1-2 cm thick. I dust the whole top with sugar, too.

Then put it in the oven until it is ready.

Nothing to it, really. Hope the crêpes come out well.

Bonapp!
