Opera and My University

At the University I attend we have a designated web site (subdomain) where we (students) go to see new information regarding the class. Usually professors use this site to upload class notes, powerpoints, reviews, .pdf files, homework problems, etc. It is usually a very busy site. One thing about this website is, it allows support from the following operating systems: Windows, Mac, and Linux. However, their supported browser page is disappointing for Windows it only supports: Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7.0 and FF 2.0. On a mac it supports Firefox 2.0 and Safari 1.3 and 2.0. And on Linux it only supports Firefox 2.0. Once more it's system requirement aren't that bad; video resolution 800x600, Internet speed 56k (minimum), Sun Java Runtime Environment 1.5, Javascript and cookies.
I have Ubuntu 8.10 with both Firefox 3.0.5, Opera 10 Alpha, and Opera 9.63 and only in Firefox can I actually view the content from the classes. I have Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 installed, along with Flash 10, and I still can't for the life of me figure it out. I guess the system university uses just doesn't let Opera have access. I even have the same trouble on my Vista machine and it has the latest Java Runtime, Flash, and Adobe Reader. I guess I'll to pester my University about getting their system to work with Opera.
