Yann Tiersen

Yann Tiersen (born June 23, 1970) is a French Avant-Garde/New Age Musician and composer known for his versatility, minimalist compositions, and virtuosity as a multi-instrumentalist. Most of his pieces include piano, accordion, melodica and violin, although many offer a much wider selection of instruments and sounds. Critics sometimes compare him to Erik Satie, Philip Glass, Nino Rota, Mogwai, Steve Reich, and the Penguin Café Orchestra for their musical proximity. Imho, he's one of the greatest musicians of our age. He can make you feel sadness and hapiness with the same song. It is best to listen him before going to bed P: (:. I've known him with the musics of "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain". Like the movie itself, songs were great.
My favourite albums of him are:
# Amélie Original Soundtrack (2001)
# Good Bye Lenin! Original Soundtrack (2003)
# Les Retrouvailles (2005)
