Noticed someone calling for a reduction in the GST ..well, that would certainly be in the interests of all taxpayers ..an across the board cut .. after all, does not a budget surplus mean that one of two things must be happening ..either there is too much tax being gathered, or there is confusion in the Treasury on how to spend it , fairly?

CEO of the Darwin City Council offers to pay , out of his own pocket , for the do , 'n gets swamped by the whingers , spits the dummy , 'n calls it all off !!! Never mind ,got a year to do it...now what we should do is....... have a meeting, to form a steering committee to start a management group to oversee the formulation of a set of guidelines to set the rules for next year...with the emphasis on lively , spontaneous, impromptu, and compulsory light-hearted events. N B : must set dress code, acceptable alcohol [and other drugs ] intake levels , screening of all, or any , jokes to be told , and vetting of speeches by the Mayor.
