My wife Olga and I are married for 8 years today, yay heart party love

Coffee faces

, , , ...

For my birthday I got a nice Senseo coffee machine from my mum and sister. If you add some cream to the cup before you put it into the machine it can make some funny coffee faces. Btw, suddenly the whole family likes coffee.

Hama again

Yesterday the kids and I wanted to do some handicraft again. Last time we chose the Opera Logo, this time I convinced them to try another one of my favorite brands smile

Btw, I had an idea on how to improve the process of fixation. Usually you do it with an electric iron. They should improve their system so that it would be able to do it this way happy

The phone landed

, , , ...

On Monday the SonyEricsson K800i that I won arrived. Since I was still in bed when the postman arrived and my wife was off to do some shopping he decided that my elder daughter (7 years) was old enough to sign for the package. I guess this is usually not ok but that time I really liked it otherwise I would've had to wait much longer to grab it since we celebrated the German reunification yesterday.

I started unpacking it and setting everything up right after I stood up. All I can say is that the phone is absolutely great. Not as small as mobile phones usually are today but small enough. I wanted it because it has such a big screen and the cyber-shot camera. I used my K750i to take pictures all the time since I use them as a visual diary in iPhoto and on a family website. The K800 will do a much better job, the first pics showed some great quality. The only thing that I'll miss is the electric torch that the K750i had. However the real flash that the new one has makes it possible to take real pics at night.

Of course I installed Opera mini on the phone as soon as I had set-up the Internet connection. Surfing on the big screen is even bigger fun -- however a horizontal surfing mode would be nice, especially if it could make use of the additional buttons that the K800i has. Of course Opera Mini does a much better job than the built-in netfront browser smile

I also have the 512 MB memory card installed that I ordered when Opera confirmed that my choice was valid, it seems it's impossible to get the 1 GB version in Germany right now. Since the phone is playing nicely with the Mac I now have some music and pictures on it and some extra space for new pics. Now all I need to do is to tweak iSync to make it recognize the phone model and then find out if there is a possibility to teach a Norwegian phone to talk German -- especially needed when SMSing. Perhaps the next Firmware Over The Air will be German, I really hope that the phone will tell the update server that it runs on a German SIM card.

Thank you once more, Opera cheers

I'd like to say thank you

, , , ...

This is my first public blog entry ever -- and the first in English aswell. Usually I don't want to bore people with what happens in a tiny village in the German countryside. However I really feel that I want to say thank you to Opera out of several reasons and this seemed to be the natural way.

I'm an Opera fanatic since 2000 when Opera 4 came with an internal mail client. I joined the community in 2002 I think. Since 2004 I use Opera extensively on my Mac at home and for about a year I also use Opera mini heavily on my mobile phone. I really am addicted to all this. However what do I get for all the fun? I not only get help and fun in this community I also won a prize and was chosen as the member of the week, yay.

Therefore I'd like to say thank you to Opera. Thank you for giving me the best Internet experience with your products, thank you for giving me the best community experience and thank you for the K800i that I was allowed to choose and that should be on its way now. Btw, my wife will get the K750i that I currently use and my sister will get the K700i that my wife currently uses. So you made a whole family happy.

All this might sound a bit pathetic but I really felt I had to say it here. You even made me start a blog of my own to have a possibility to really say thank you to the community. Don't expect too many posts here but I hope I'll find the courage to post some more from time to time.
