Autumn Fun at the Celle Castle

Yesterday we went to Celle. While we walked through the park around the Celle castle we couldn't resist to play with the tons of leaves lying around everywhere. Charlotte analyzed the coloured things around her and decided she liked them.

Charlottes Baptism

Last Sunday we celebrated Charlottes baptism in our idyllic chapel. It was a great opportunity to welcome many relatives we don't see every day and we enjoyed a sunny and gemütlich day together. Charlotte seemed to especially enjoy all that happened.

Kartofler Ferie - Autumn Holidays in Denmark

Time for short update. In October we spent one week together -- the so called kartofler ferie -- with my mother in her lovely summerhouse on Sjælland. Main purposes: Relaxation, reading, playing with the kids, relaxation, beach walks, exploring second hand shops and did I mention it, relaxation. On Olgas and mine 11th wedding day we went to the Tivoli in Copenhagen that I love since I was there regularly with my father many years ago. You won't believe whom I met there accidentally and shook hands with!

Parental Leave and Holidays

After 4 weeks of parental leave and 1 week of holidays I wanted to give a short summary of what we did this summer -- mostly offline:

It all started with the Assen TT race (first time for the XJ)
We went to a lake nearby several times
We visited my mum in Berlin, saw the great fun western musical Der Schuh des Manitu and went climbing in some high trees
We went to the nice Hannover Zoo
We went camping at the Elbe (near Bleckede) twice (the Baltic Sea was too crowded)
My sister from Berlin visited us
We worked in the garden and started preparing Charlottes room
And of course we had as much fun together with the kids as possible (basically what the parental leave is intended for -- oh and did I mention that I'll have 4 more weeks in 2010? )

And Then There Were Three (Daughters)

Please welcome our third daughter, Charlotte. She came today at 2.25 AM, was 49 cms long and weighed 3260 gram. Like Alessa she was born right here in our house and everything was harmonic and without complications. She started drinking immediately. Now she recovers from the birth and is happy that everybody admires her.

Sofies 10th Birthday

Sofie turned 10 yesterday and we had a big party with her friends and the family. Thanks to the brilliant weather we also had the first BBQ 2009!

Wasa Run

This year Sofie and Alessa wanted to participate in the annual Wasa run through the city centre of Celle. One adult had to run with them so I accompanied them on the 2.5 kms of the Mini Wasa Run which was big fun. It's a huge crowd with a range from 3 to 70 years and most of them are there to enjoy the atmosphere like we did -- competition-wise it's enough to reach the target on your own feet

The weather was a bit Bergen'ish but still better than expected. We will be there again next year.

New Bike

After 10 years and almost 70.000 kms I decided that it was time to exchange my beloved Honda VFR 750 F RC 36 (18 years old, 100.000 kms) with something slightly younger. I chose a Yamaha XJ 900 S Diversion from 1995 with 53.000 kms and used it twice already to drive to work. So far it's great so say hello to the new Demuth-Bike
