Sofies Ninth Birthday

,

On Saturday Sofie turned nine and we had a big party with 10 guests plus Alessa and Sofie. My sister from Berlin was there, too, and -- as usual -- helped us alot with the preparations. The kids had fun making noodles themselves and they got the chance for a free ride on one of the horses of our neighbours.:wizard:

In the evening we enjoyed the first barbeque 2008 together with Olgas relatives and some friends. :drunk:

Not only did everybody scare me by telling me how old I must be when Sofie is nine already but my father-in-law said that it'll only be nine more years until Sofie will demand her first car :insane: Oh and we borrowed a baby to test how that feels :wait:

Some more pictures in the gallery.

Weekend Quiz

,

Guess what these two photos mean:

Right, we'll have another baby -- don't hold your breath, though, it's just the 5th week. Sofie and Alessa are really excited and can't wait to see their brother/sister

11 Years

,

On Monday Olga and I celebrated our 11th anniversary -- this also means that we'll be married 10 years this October

Wedding Day

,

Today Olga and I are married for 9 years (which means that we are together ten and a half years). :king: :queen:

Alessa's School Enrolment

, , ,

Small weekend update: On Friday I prepared the party to celebrate Alessa's school enrolment. Meanwhile Olga made tons of nice bouquets and sunflower bunchs for a silver wedding. Friday afternoon we went to the silver wedding and enjoyed a real nice party. First we went to church where the bridal couple renewed their love assurance. Afterwards we went to a restaurant in our hometown to have a great meal. Then we partyed until 3 AM and also had a fun appearance with some of our friends and neighbours.

Saturday we had to stand up early since we had to be in church again at 8 AM. This time we celebrated Alessa's school enrolment. We all had a great day in the school and afterwards in our garden with a decent barbeque (do you recall the spits, Uncle Adam?) and a campfire. Alessa is so happy to go to school and today is her first real day. Sofie is now in the 3rd class and they can go to the same bus stop, use the same bus and walk to the same school together for two more years.

So now both of my kids are in school. Am I supposed to feel old?

You can call me Beer Maxx

, , , ...

On Friday we had a nice Party and I received a beer dispenser suitable for beer kegs with 5 litres which are quite common here. I like how it's called Beer Maxx. Funny how people know that beer and Moods (small cigars) are what makes me really happy (besides my girls who are much more important of course).

I also managed to buy beer bottles with the signs on them. There have not been enough "Lions", though

In the morning my girls surprised me with breakfast in nature. They blindfolded me and drove me to a nice lake where they prepared everything. That was fun!

Yesterday we spent a nice lazy day in the garden, enjoyed the ducks and started a camp fire in the evening.

I prepared some baked potatoes in the fire but managed to burn one. See how it finally had the shape of a heart. Of course Olga and I ate the parts that were still eatable.

See all the weekend pictures in the Album.

Back from Croatia

, , , ...

Last Sunday we returned home. All I can say is that we had much fun in Croatia. We enjoyed extremely clean and warm water, visited Malinska, Krk and Rijeka and read as many books as possible. Of course we also played H2O Uno and Yatzee (Olgas sister Viola always won!). One of the highlights was a trip to Venice, Dubrovnik was just too far away. And no, we didn't hear anything about the forest fires until we returned home. Below you can see some of the highlights from the Gallery.

Happy Birthday Olga

,

Today is Olgas Birthday!

At least a reason to feel better. After some complications (due to her nature making it impossible for her to just lie and not use her arm) Olga has had much pain lately; medically everything goes right. I'm sure together with our friends and neighbours we'll manage to make it a good day for her.

Olga is better

, , , ...

On Thursday Olga had her surgery and it seems everything went ok. She has to wait until tomorrow when they'll take some more radiographs to check her shoulder and her knee. We still hope that she'll be able to leave the hospital tomorrow but nobody has confirmed this yet. I'll stay home next week anyways but I'll work 3 to 4 hours a day from home. Perhaps this can prove my boss that it is possible and I might do that more often in the future but somehow I doubt that.

Today was Mother's Day so we had to celebrate that in hospital with a rose of our garden and some additional guests (neighbours who visited Olga):

I'll spend the rest of the evening watching a thunderbirds episode.

Blessing in Disguise

, ,

Olga and the kids had a car accident today. Luckily noone got hurt seriously!

When I came home from work two neighbours came and told me that Olga and the kids had a car accident and were on their way to hospital. Since it didn't happen too long before I came home I managed to be with them soon after they arrived.

When they got checked the doctor found out the the kids have bruises and a shock from flying across the street and into a trench with the car. Olga was injured more since a bone in her shoulder broke. Of course she has bruises aswell. Luckily the broken bone thing isn't as serious as one might guess and she was allowed to come home with us. She wears a special shoulder bandage. Tomorrow she'll be checked once more and then the doctor will decide what to do. I'll stay home at least tomorrow and probably the day after aswell. Our famous Peugeot bus is probably broken-down, I'll go and see after it tomorrow.

So I'm extremely happy to tell that my girls are in one piece and home with me now. I wish all of you a safe ride. Always!

Happy Birthday Sofie

, ,

Yesterday we celebrated Sofies birthday.

We took all her 10 guests and went into a forrest where we know a nice public hut. Everybody had much fun. I can't believe that she's already 8! Would've been even more fun if uncle Adam would've still been there
