Loss

Today is the third day of the new semester. We studied syntax and reading.

At first glance, syntax was somewhat child's play. But it is definitely not a bed of roses.Normally when I practise the language, I won't take much heed of the structures of sentences, of the components as well as their functions, for I am fully convinced that I've learnt all the needed ropes. But when this very task had fallen upon me, it ook me aback that syntax was a tough and ugly nut to crack. However, I can take heart from the fact that we will be under the tutelage of a real lingustic instructor.

So what about reading? Dead boring. It beats me in what way and by what criteria this university takes on new teaching staff. I'm at an absolute loss to tell why most of my college teachers leave a lot to be desired. Certainly, as one of my old teachers told me, study is a very personal affair. But if so, why the head counts? There is no point in taking attendance in order to prevent members' absence. If your methodoly is riveting enough to pique their interest, instinct draws them to you.

Such woes really tear me down. This is a big disgraceful waste of time and money, and therefore a big disgraceful block on my path to academic success.

How can I make up for such losses?
