My Struggle With English

In the First National Workshop, Prof Ansari was elected as being the chief guest and was invited there for the valedictory assembly of that translation of Urdu of the Science Books. This program happened by Vigyan Prasar, undertaken by way of the Government of India beneath the department of Science and Technology. The entire agenda had been planned in collaboration along with the Aligarh Muslim University's Middle of Promotion of Scientific discipline.

His year's longer research has enabled him in observing the truth that in every stream, mother tongue should be imparted as the moderate of education. For the sake in the kids he pushed on the translators to apply extremely simple and readable language in the interpretation.

In this workshop, Prof Ansari praised and congratulated each of the participants who took an active part in the translation program. Moreover he distributed credentials to contributors and also the participants.

Using the director of the Middle for Promotion of Science, the objective of Prof Ansari is to circulate the education with science even at its elementary levels and such advantage may be brought especially for your Muslim Managed Education Institutions and also the Deeni Madaris. The 1985 inception in the centre has managed in providing training to the science tutors of the Madrasas. Such has even became a boon for all the Muslim religion people who are into the centre. As per his words science education is an important aspect that should come under everyone's concern and to make all the Muslim brothers and sisters educated science must be kept for an important stream within your national mainstream.

The project coordinator of EDUSAT made a presentation with the entire report in the Workshop and appraised every one of the participants for their accomplishment over their project. He spoke in clipped accent which was difficult for me to decipher. I had to strain my ears and maintained my eyes glued to his lips to learn him. He was reading a tale called The Diamond Pendant, by Guy de Maupassant. Though I had read its abridged version in Hindi and knew its gist, yet there was clearly many gaps in the narrative (I did so not know that this English version too was a translation in the French original).

These week as I heard him read from the Monkey's Paw by Edgar Allan Poe, I was totally confused with paw and Poe. Nevertheless, one afternoon in the same class I felt that one day I'll generate in English-just a whizz from nowhere.

I saw it underlined all the difficult words in the stories but I had just a moth eaten English-Hindi book, where finding a word and its meaning both on a single page was very challenging: as a result of which many English words continued to be un-translated. hindi to english
