Netscape 8 introducing new spy features

AOL just released the new version of Netscape. It promisses to be the safest browser and to protect you from spyware.
But before using it you should have a look at the "Advanced Settings" dialog which can be accessed during installation only:





The option "Allow Netscape to gather anonymous browser usage statistics" is enabled by default. Leaving this enabled would allow Netscape to gather almost any data about your browsing behaviour.








And as most people will just skip the dialog containing the button to open the "Advanced Settings" dialog Netscape will be able to gather many data...

Well, they do explain right on that installation page why you really want to go into the 'Advanced settings'. I did...
