Take me back

I have also connected to music, having brothers 14 and 16 yrs older than myself and cousins 12 to 14 years older I feel lucky to have been exposed to a great deal of the late 60s to mid 70s music on offer at the time. I am equally comfortable with Creedance as I am with Missy Elliot, from Metallica to Abba and beyond.

I find songs take me back, a snap shot if you will, the emotions if happy come flooding back as does the innocence of the time, milking every last moment as if a fine wine never to be produced again.

This song below came out 74/75, a classic Aussie Band that really did represent the baby boomers at the time. I remember at 8 having long haired brothers, who friends had long hair, who dated girls with long hair, drove panel vans or holdens and seemed to live a fantastic life from where I was watching.

My time, the 80s were far different to their idyllic wasted youth with not a care in the world other than world peace, cool threads, cool hair and cool music.. My youth was apparently concerned with AIDS, nuclear attack, Russia , high unemployment, we rebelled by wear outragious hair, clothes, and makeup, guys included. We lost ourselves in the music and fashion, for tomorrow may never come....

I have read my generation is a cynical generation.

Anyway this first tube takes me into my aunties house, my cousin Gary playing this on his electric guitar in the kitchen while my parents chatted and drank tea. My cousin Trish, 4 mths older was not into music as much as me, she was into boys LOL...

At the beginning of the clip is the classic hoons car, a big assed Holden..
This is the aussie baby boomers of 1975

Yes Laz music is like a virtual time machine. I have over 4000 songs on my ipod that when I put it on shuffle will take me backwards and forwards over my life's events. You are so right, certain songs can clearly bring back the emotions of what was going on at the time. Hearing a particular song will remind me of the day I met Brenda or my first high school dance, I can even tell you what song was playing the day Lisa got sick as a little girl. I think music has an amazing power.

Pictures are great reminders of a place and time, like a trip you went on, you can look at them and say we had a great time. Music can bring back the feelings of an event. You said it best music just is....
