Najuha - Pre-Launch pics

As is usual in the UK, the weather this year has been a little unreliable but I have finally managed to tidy up most of the loose ends and "we" (Najuha and I) are now ready for trials.
Above are a few shots to give an idea of her basic layout:-

First checks will be for top speed and general handling to ascertain what modifications will be necessary to ensure safe handling. Hopefully there will be no drastic changes.....?
Wish me luck...

Derek, she is beautiful! You worked on her for a long time. I hope all goes well.

Hi Pam! It's been a while...
Praise indeed! Glad that you like her.
She has been worth the effort...(I think - proud parent and all that)...
If there is ever a next time I shall be looking for a decent size shed....UK weather has been abysmal for outdoor builds..
Now I pray for an Indian summer!

WOW she is well fit, hope all goes well on test day.
Shame to get her wet hehe.

Indian summer... they get more rain than us now.

God speed... ship ahoy

Hi Tiny!
Correct! They're not supposed to get wet! You polish them (early) inside the garage, wheel them out and then polish them again (in front of the neighbours) and then after a suitable admiration ceremony, you push them back in again to await the repeat performance the following week....Wet? Tut-tut!
Old-fashioned Indian summers then!

Hi Derick
Hope all is well with you...
Has She got her feet wet yet???????????????

Hi Tiny!
Yes indeed! Successful! A perfect fore and aft trim but with the manners of a pond skater...Have added a pair of skegs to her rear end and she now behaves impeccably. Tidy up and a couple of small engine mods (passengers do not appreciate being showered with cooling water)and Bob's your uncle!
Ten knots achieved over the measured mile... five is the legal limit - so plenty of power for river use. Eight trips so far but as expected - public slipways are a nightmare. There will be a lot to come on that subject... What a mess!
You can see them but - oh boy! Disastrous when you try them!

Tidy up the little jobs and stow her away ready for the spring. One more trip if weather permits before winter. Sorry, no pics to date - the learning curve was too steep but am just getting the walking boots back on again...
Regards
Derek

She is certainly a sweet looking craft that you deserve to be proud of. Extremely well done, my friend.

:D

Thank you Skip,
It has been worth all the head scratchings and frustrations ....
Maybe I should try an airship next...hmmmm ... wouldn't have to deal with those slipways....plenty of TV antennae to moor up to....
