The Isabella Plantation:

A Breath of Fresh Air.
Sometimes you just have to get out. The weather, of late, has been lousy and I must admit to dodging it but, as the alternative is to go "stir crazy", I decided to take a chance on the rain and try somewhere I hadn't seen before...
I was browsing around, peering at Richmond Park and noticed a section which appeared to be a little unnatural and thought that it would be worth investigation. It turned out to be the Isabella plantation in Richmond Park. I resolved to make a spur of the moment visit and this was the result:

Autumn Tints. Click on the picture for more.. (a Derek series).
What surprised me, more than the planting itself, was the fact that I had been driving and walking past this beautiful area for years (only 44 acres of it) and had never noticed it. If you are in Richmond Park - spend a couple of hours here with your picnic - you will enjoy it. That is a promise.
Please respect the area, take your litter home and please, keep the kids off the trees. The bark on many must be left alone!
Note to weather watchers here. It is coming up to mid-November and this is the UK. That nice little pink flower is a camellia!
Richmond Park is a subject on its' own and you will find plenty to keep you busy if you live within cycling radius and you become interested in one of the many pursuits it has to offer.
