In years past if someone was looking for an affordable, quality ac compressor the list was short: Honda, Toyota, Mazda and Nissan. In 2011 however the list has grown. Over the past few years several car companies have begun to put out some great little cars. Recently Hyundai has released a slew of new and recreated models that are pleasing to the eye, the wallet and the conscience. Hyundai has gone to great lengths to upgrade the quality of the alternator, C/V axles and all other wear items on their cars.
When it comes to fun cars, it the X factor that we are looking for. We want the car that is great and fun even if it is low quality and falls apart as it is driven. This is the kind of thing that cannot be decided until the end of the year…after a good number of miles behind the wheel. There are some serious contenders this year from a huge number of manufacturers. From BMW to Mercedes, Honda to Hyundai it looks like everyone has been bitten by the sports car bug in the last year. Nowadays a consumer can buy a performance edition of almost any car, some are just for show and others are the real thing.
Recently the list of the top contenders for the North American Car of the year was released. Topping the list are the Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf and the Hyundai Sonata, which are all great cars. These cars use new and redesigned highly efficient parts thoughout, from the wheel hub bearing and mass air flow meter to the radiator fan. These are going to be great cars for the average day to day commute, but let’s be honest they’re not the cars we dream about. There are not many of us that see these cars on the street and long to have one in our own garage. The cars that we dream about are not the gas sipping hybrids, they are the howling sports cars that capture our hearts. The most important award of the year is the one that has not been given yet, it is the award for the most fun car of the year.
An adhesive used in the wheel-arch assembly above the wheel hub in the new 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia is susceptible to catching fire, and now this guy may need to purchase a new A/C compressor. A temperature description withstanding, I don’t know that I’ve ever referred to a car as “hot” with a straight face. That said this Ferarri is on fire. NBA Jam style. Seriously though, no less than five Ferrari 458 Italia’s have caught fire in recent weeks. Anyone who owns a Ferrari 458 Italia which was built before air condition compressor is being asked by Ferrari to go to a dealership and have fasteners installed and the adhesive removed. Ferrari also says that if your 458 has already been damaged by fire, you will get a new one.
