Fake medicine is a reality in Nigeria and the country has been
battling the trade in counterfeit drugs for over 20 years.
A recent report said that more than two-thirds of malaria medicine in
the country was fake or substandard, with some pills containing just
chalk or sawdust.
But now more packs of medicine are being given a unique code which
once sent by text message will reveal if the drugs are safe to take or
not.
