Skype, China telecom
Reported by ccidnet,China telecom now is contacting Verso technologies for their voip blocking equipments.News from IDC says,China telecom will purchase Verso's Sepective M fliter later this year.
That means Skype could be completely blocked in the end of this year.If the report is true, it will be a disaster for China skype users.
Skype has tied up the partnership with Tom.com.So far ,there are no updated news indicates what Tom.com responses.

According to the news report ,China telecom is planing a series of movement to ban all type of VOIP software ,such as skype and etc..This plan is currently on the stage of pre-inplemention.Some inside people say , China telecom has been busy preparing to enter this market for a long time. They've already incorporated with some software and hardware manufacutures.It will be estimatedly carried out in Beijing ,Shanghai ,Guangzhou and Shenzhen by 2007.
In terms of forbiding their customer from using skypeout to affect their traffic of tele services (esp long distance calls) ,China telcom Shenzhen branch has developed a range of measures to monitor DSL users' online behavior.The next step will be involving traffic control, fake data package etc to worse the quality of VOIP conversation.But all this mentioned has not yet been confirmed by administrative officals.
