Go outside for A New Taste

Go across the road, and you can find it right at the corner, beside an Internet bar. The restaurateur and the waiters are very hospitable, with smiling always on the face. Characteristically, they prefer to be called Xiao Mei (小妹), rather than “boss” or “waiter”. In this way, it narrows the gap between the customers and restaurateur and thus makes customers feel so friendly.
Food is characteristic, too. Here, let me just introduce you some of their signature dishes.
- “Flaming Mountain” (火焰山) is one of them. It is on fire when served, and the food is wrapped in the Aluminium foil (锡箔纸). After the fire extinguishes, you can unfold the wrap and see the colorful and goluptious food in it, chicken shred (鸡柳)or shrimp with pimiento (辣椒).
- They also serve desserts. “Taro Roll” (香芋卷) is one of the best, in my opinion. It is deep fried with mashed taro (芋泥) rolled in the flour. When you have a bite of the golden yellow roll, there comes the soft and sweet mashed taro. The look, smell and taste are all excellent.
- In addition, there is a tradition that the lucky customer who is on his birthday will be served one extra food for free. That is a bowl of “Longevity Noodles” (长寿面), because in China, noodles and eggs are necessary on one’s birthday, which is for the purpose of long life. The hand-made noodles are so long that we always have to help each other to get the whole piece of it. The egg is delicious and tasty, too.
Well, this is one of my favorite restaurants, which you can go for a new taste, especially on your birthday. To tell you the true, every time I go there, I leave all the dishes finished, just as the following photo shows. Really delicious!
