Swiss Knife, second beta

New beta for Swiss knife, this one "should" solve the Facebook apps problem. If ever you notice any issue please report them before the official release.

New features:
  • Facebook Apps fix (not completely tested)
  • Minor bug fixes
  • Possibility to disable redirect on a page (add ?operaExtRedirect=false to the URL)

Swiss Knife 1.98-2
WARNING
This is a development version; it contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues. In fact, it may not work at all.
These snapshots will not auto-update, therefor check back on my blog or the official 'repo' for updates.
Note also that each update will probably reset the preferences to their default value, so if you added lots of rules, stick to the official version.
If ever you encounter a bug in this version, please report it using email (see the support section in the preferences) or comment this blog post.

Beta tester wanted!

, ,

After multiple user requests, I've decided to remove the secondary features (online viewer for example) from Redirect to HTTPS. But to do this, I needed to make a new extension that would keep all the actual features, so I've decided to make Swiss Knife. As many files have been heavy rewritten, this extension needs to be tested before submitting it to Opera. Please feel free to submit any features idea.

New features:
  • Download link on YouTube videos (this script is under the MIT license)
  • The new preference page design

Upcomming features:
  • Hability to transfer preference from previous Redirect to HTTPS installs

* Will be officially released as version 2.0

New preference page

, ,

Since Linux doesn't allow me to test the changes to the script itself, I decided to completely rewrite the preference page. It since much better than before both in term of look and content. I added more collapsible sections and completed the FAQ. Also the French translation is now complete. This is an official version and it should work properly, but it won't be submitted to Opera (at least for now) since I am planning to wait until the release of version 2.0 (which should include many new features, one of which can be find if you feel like searching in the source code).

Changelog since 1.96
* New rewritten preference page.
* Completed French translation.

Development pause

, ,

Sorry to break the bad news, but unfortunately I'll have to pause the development (at least for major features) of Redirect to HTTPS because of a problem in the latest builds of Opera for Linux (developer mode doesn't seem to work properly).

Hope to start again soon (perhaps with a few surprises)...

1.96 Final

, ,

This is the final version. It has been submitted to Opera a little earlier and should be accepted by Tuesday. It basically adds Portuguese translation (thanks to Gil Castro) and solves an issue with the button.

Changelog since 1.96c
* Portuguese translation by Gil Castro.
* Solved an issue with the button where it would be enabled each time the browser is launched.

Yet another version, 1.96c this time

, ,

Ok, this is should be the last version today. Should solve the problem when a pdf/doc/... file is opened directly (those files will no longer be redirected to Google Docs, like in older versions).

Changelog since 1.96b
* Solved the problem for files opened directly
* Added a Portuguese donation button

Another version today

, ,

Second version for today. This one includes the same changes as the previous (1.96a) but also add two minor changes.

Changelog since 1.96a
* Added a few file formats to the default list (thanks to Nickko, I haven't tested them all personally so report any problems with the new list).
* Added a donation button to the preferences (hey, I even made it 30% transparent, you can't complain I'm forcing you...)

Redirect to HTTPS 1.96a

, , ,

I just submitted version 1.95 of my extension to Opera, but since Opera take 2-3 days to review extensions and some people might want to try the latest changes now, I decided to post a preview of the next version here right now. It's basically just version 1.95 with a minor change in the translation (since the Online Viewer is now turned on by default) and some minor changes nobody will probably notice.

From now I'll try to post future versions on my blog (which I don't really use anyway) before putting them in the official 'repo'. If ever you find any bugs in those versions, please report them back so I can correct them.

Changelog since 1.95
* Translation correction (English and French)

Changelog since 1.94
* When Google Docs is unable to open a file, you will now be offered to open it locally. By default a warning will be displayed but don't worry, this can be turned off on the preferences page.
* Online Viewer is now enabled by default.
* Added the top toolbar to encrypted Google like normal Google, but I made it slimmer by removing options that are usually less useful.
* Made the code easier to read by splitting it in more files. This will allow me to make changes faster and more easily, especially to the preference page which is becoming a real mess.
