Backstage at the shoot for Victoria's Secret new make up line, La Bündchen is not just simply checking her email, she is letting you (and the rest of the world) know that she is a Mac user. Could that be due to the
rumors that the Brazilian bombshell will be featured in a new series of ads for Apple?
I guess Alessandra is a Mac user as well.

apple, macintosh
Why do people still think that Macintoshes are an "out of this world" machines, like an alien from a far away planet? Surely they look different of most computers. Apple products are well known to be good looking and astonishing, but in the end they are just computers. Mac OS X has been around since the year 2000. It's core is BSD (Mach kernel) a very close cousing to most Linux distri available. Most of the well known commercial software also runs on a Mac, like Microsoft Office or Adobe Creative Suite. Their documents are virtually 100% compaatible. Every new Mac even comes with a mouse with scroll and a secondary button. And lastly the Intel Core powered machines can run Windows via a Boot Camp dual-boot system or even in a parallel machine using CPU virtualization.
So, I ask again: why do people are still afraid of Mac's? I can only think that's beacuse of an old reason: Mankind usually fears what is unknown to them at the time. It happened many time before. So, next time, before saying something about a subject that you don't know about, please try to learn about it first. Being it about a Macintosh or any other subject.

First post... It would never happen if I didn't try Opera 9 (aka "O9"). I've heard about it a long time ago, when the only browsers widely known were IE and Netscape Navigator or Communicator (Remember that? Good times...). I like the idea of not opening other pages in multiples windows. Screen real state is very important. But I hated the ad banner. Well, it was a long time ago, when I was using PC's.
Then I moved to Macintosh. Opera was there too, but just not "felt right" in my Mac (BTW, why the hack the screen shot in the Mac download page is from the Windowze version?!?!
). Then OS X came and a brave new world. I tried Opera sometimes then, but the ads always annoyed me. I like freedom, like Open Source software. Then something changed: Opera became free, with no advertising. Wow, great move. Lets try again. Still not there: no Mac look and feel.
Finally, I heard about Opera 9 Pre Release, and tried to find out some info of nightly builds, to watch its development. With great joy I found the Desktop Team blog, and grab a recent build. Wow, much better! Installing another theme also helped (but I still miss a *really* good Mac theme). There are a few bugs left, and instability, but it's almost there. Good luck Opera team, the future looks good!
