A bit of a rant...

Stamens

It's spring here in the lovely Pacific Northwest, but you wouldn't know it. Sure, the plants are starting to grow... sort of. We have lettuce to eat from the garden - for our sandwiches. Not enough for a salad yet! The beans have finally sprouted (second batch of seeds), and for the most part things are looking good in the garden. In fact, today I removed some of the "anti kitty-poo" yarn fences and the overall mood of the garden is much improved. I'll be able to reach into the beds to pull out the weeds!

It's been a couple of busy weeks - finally this weekend I am free from work and other social requirements. Kind of glad for that! I need a bit of relaxation. Tomorrow is a garden day, and on Sunday we'll head off island to hit Costco, Value Village, and the best ever mexican restaurant. Wooo!

But seriously - is it ever going to get warm again? The next few days are calling for highs in the 50's... I'm getting a little tired of the cool air. And the wind! That really breaks the deal. Give me 75 and 80% humidity... for a day or two anyhow!

Heart on a stick!

-------------------------------------------------------

Did you know that the BP subsidiaries in the western US are ARCO and ampm? Stop shopping there! Don't buy their gasoline! Boycott BP now.

I don't really want to get going about the Gulf oil gusher - don't call it a spill, that's a really poor representation of the truth. It's an uncontrolled underater oil volcano...

Thanks BP. Thanks for freakin' destroying the Gulf.

That sign has a feel of frivolity about it

Whaddya' think? Maybe it's time to rethink our addiction to oil? Look for some alternatives? Not let the corporations rule our country?

And what is up with that Rand Paul dude? It's "un-American" to criticize BP? What - it's patriotic to bow down to a foreign corporation in the name of the effing "free" market and say - oh, it's just a teensy bit of oil out there... too bad so sad for all of the people and the ecosystems that are destroyed by the greed of BP...

Jerk.

Since when do the corporations run this country? Oh, silly me... since the Supreme court granted them "personhood" without the actual responsibilities of being a person.

Okay, that's all. It's time to head off to bed now...

Funny thing about BP and the Gulf...
Other people don't perceive it like: Oh, those corporations!
More like: Again those Americans! What will they do next?!?

That doesn't surprise me at all. I wonder what "we" will be doing next too.

Depressing...

May I ask why it doesn't surprise you?! whistle

Adrianreloaded Wednesday, June 2, 2010 8:11:43 AM

And I'm in love!!! It is amazing!!!

It doesn't surprise me at all because it seems like "us Americans" have been behaving very foolishly in the world for a while now. I can only imagine what the people in other countries think!!!

In love? Yes, it is a very good thing! Congrats!

It feels good to be in love, very good! Never happened before. It makes you think different...

How are you?

Annelibrarianguish Saturday, June 26, 2010 6:58:40 PM

Love is wonderful!

How am I - that is a whole different story. We've run into some immigration problems for Michael, and now it has become a big mess that we have to work through in a very short time period.

I am hoping that all turns out well and we can tell the tale with a smile someday.

Thanks for asking!!
