First day at Renewtek, a new place with some strangers, so there are some significant point
First, my computer configuration make me surprised, it has Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz CPU, 3.5GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 2 LCD Monitor 17", and a special Cooler Master case. However its OS is Ubuntu (Linux), not Window. Hix, i nearly lost all my Linux knowledge
, so that i have to do something again.
Second, my office is located at 9th floor, so i have a nice view through our windows, it has a pantry, a kitchen that has coffee, ice tea, moon cake
for free and several meeting rooms. The amazing thing makes me surprised again is that this office has enough space and seat for more than 40 guys, so I wonder when it would be fulfilled because the current staff here has only 7 Vietnamese dev, 2 Australian guys, 1 HR, 1 Accountant
. Because tomorrow is independent day, so i've got nothing to do, as Julian said I should only get familliar with working environment, my assignment would be ready at next Wednesday.
Third, i found that this company have something similar to FSoft, at Melbourne HO, they've had some outdoor club (bicycle, football etc ...) and a internal newsletter. The newsletter has some article about project news, sale statistic, some article about new starters, new opened business and a special CEO news. It's quite clear and interesting so that I could have a quick overview about company status and how they run their business. At this point, they differ from FSoft, their core business is technical consulting not outsourcing, so their main person is consultant not project manager. Their strength's based on IBM FileNet, a leading solution in Business Process Management (BPM) and Enterprise Content Management (ECM). According to Gartner report of 2005, SAP solution in this field is only considered as niche player and FileNet has been applied in 81 of 100 Fortune list (Top 100 company). Nevertheless they are going to open new business with ANZ. Hix, a lot of news in one day and i have to research FileNet to get IBM certificate while practising EJB 3.0 for SCBCD exam at September 20th. There are so many things to do
Finally, Thank a sweet cake, my stylish, your choices are so cute and pretty young
